Greetings from Molde

From the jazzcafé sweet music is emerging
A scent of roses softly fills the air
By the quay his shrimps
The fisherman is selling
Feel a breeze of Autumn in the air

The market has it bench, it’s smiling florist
The girl with roses keeps a watchful eye
Looks across the square
To the young man who is playing
Silently for people passing by

Molde, Molde, a beauty in sunlight
Still fascinating when grey
Whereever I travel, I’ll always return
That’s where my heart will stay

Reknes Park bids you welcome in the summer
Through the park you’ll find a lane, it leads the way
If you follow it, you’ll reach the old museum
The sound of silence guides you on your way

From Varden you see snowclad peaks and mountains
Like a string of pearls for eyes that clearly see
You see Hjertøya, which was once an artist’s haven
There you may find your own inner peace

Molde, Molde, a beauty in sunlight
Still fascinating when grey
Whereever I travel, I’ll always return
That’s where my heart will stay

Elvebakken has it’s own great poet
From his pedestal he keeps an eye on you
Sends a quiet nod to the rambler as he passes
When you celebrate he smiles at you

Molde, Molde, a beauty in sunlight
Still fascinating when grey
Whereever I travel, I’ll always return
That’s where my heart will stay
